mark twain on traveling

i found myself "googling" again for travel quotes. the net abounds with them.in fact, i came across this book containing 100 of the most inspirational travel quotes of all time
the book was published december 2011 and was authored by matador network. the book is something i would definitely pick up if only i could find it here in my beloved PH. international shipping is just so exorbitantly expensive that buying it for myself is not an option for now.

while this book could be a catalyst and motivate someone to pack up his bags and hit the road, it is for me mark twain who offers the best motivation for traveling. in my other blog, i initially thought of featuring quotes to inspire others to travel. but the plan never truly panned out as i truly, truly love what he said, and there's no way i could convince myself that it should be replaced.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the tradewinds in your sails. Explore… Dream… Discover –Mark Twain
doesn't that make you want to leave and ensure you don't have regrets later?

i also found two other quotes from him that i just could not disagree.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” – Mark Twain
without doubt, if people could just experience and see for themselves other cultures and other people's way of living, there's just no way these three should continue to exist. traveling affords the traveler enlightenment and new perspective. the latter is to me, the best gift a person could give to the world.

confession. when i first came across the next quote, i had to put it to a test back in 2009
“I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.” – Mark Twain
